Suspension of Disbelief: GHOST

Early on the in the mugging scene Demi does nothing to assist Swayze in his life-or-death struggle with the armed mugger. She just stands around and whines, "Help, somebody help!".

Here's a thought, why doesn't Demi help? She's more than useless. She could have helped Swayze wrest the gun away from the killer, but she was impotent. If that happened to me, I wouldn't stick around as a 'Ghost' to protect her owing to her weak-assed-response to her mate's murder directly in front of her. Doesn't she have a nail file to poke in the muggers eye or ear?
