Suspension of Disbelief: THE FRENCH CONNECTION: The True Original Version

There's a scene of crucial-to-understanding Popeye Doyle's dialogue, with Hackman, dressed as Santa Claus.

In the original version Popeye Doyle says, "Santa's gotta catch that nigger." when queried by some ghetto children as to why he was running.

The suspension of disbelief is that they would not seek to preserve an original work of art, which reflected actualities at the time frame depicted.

When good directors make bad decisions to reedit or re-cut their movies to suit the politically-correct,  foolishness of socialists.

Thus ruining good art. A total eclipse of of Disbelief!
